Oslo - a City for Cycling!

Oslo citizens have a lot of opportunities to enjoyone of the city's major assets - it's ease fo travel. Not only is it ssafe for the cyclist but the city fathers are encouraging the pursuit by virtue of a municipal bike rental scheme. The short distances between Oslo's major hubs and sights of interest make cycling a superb means of transport and a pleasurable way to explore the city. Using a bicycle to cover distances of up to 3 or 4 kilometres is frequently just as fast as using public transit.

Vigeland Sculpture Park (Vigelandsparken) is one of Norway's most visited attractions with more than 1 million visitors every year. The unique sculpture park is the life work of the sculptor Gustav Vigeland with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and cast iron. Among the world-famous artists who lived in Oslo during were Henrik Ibsen and Knut Hamsen (the latter was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature)
